Our Fleet

The Merritt Fire Rescue Department maintains a fleet of three (3) Fire Engines, one (1) Ladder Truck, one (1) Rescue truck, plus a utilitarian vehicle equipped to respond to both wildland and first responder emergencies. These assets are housed in a single fire station. The Department maintains two (2) administrative vehicles to carry out fire prevention, training, inspection and response duties. The City of Merritt funds a capital reserve annually to ensure that the fire fleet is not rendered obsolete over time.

The pride Merritt Firefighters have for the job extends to our fleet of fire apparatus – daily checks, inventories and maintenance of each Apparatus and its respective equipment is conducted to ensure that everything is operating as designed and is ready to be put into action.
